What are tags, then?

Simply put, tags are keywords — phrases that you categorize a certain website under. For example, when the website you bookmarked is about fashion models, you may tag it under fashion models, fashion, or models. Many people refer to these keyword phrases as long tail keywords.

In the future, when you want to visit a site about fashion, then you just can click on the tags. Your friends or other users can also find the bookmarked website if they enter the same tag that you categorized the website under.

Proper tagging is also important in having the “right people” visit your site, especially if it is selling some products.
