Is it weird to contact a potential employer on Twitter?

I have a job interview next week (for an internship summer) with the head of business communications online entertainment. The course consists of online marketing and social networks. The company's Twitter page maintained by the guy who will be interviewed by him, and I kept tweeting about how they have reduced the demand to reduce the 6 of us. Is it strange to greet directly or talk about it in an indirect peep said I was excited about my interview? Few people send tweets now, so I thought it would be good to show that I was a devoted disciple, at least!
