Is my screen backlight or the need to replace your inverter?

I have a Presario 2100 laptop and a couple of weeks of its light would go a little dimmer when I * 'pause' of him (from a black screen in the state). Then, a couple of days, ranging from a few seconds and was completely black. I do things on screen with just the light shining on him. I'm sure if my backlight or inverter, because each time I reset my computer "Compaq" logo screen (in red) will be displayed fully illuminated as if nothing had happened with the monitor, and only after a second, it will immediately go completely dark again. It could be anyone. I fixed an HP (which bought Compaq), who had this problem, but ends up being a bad connection to the board of the inverter. If you feel confident enough to remove the plastic around the screen, you can check to make sure the connectors are secure and begin to see if this was really the problem. Be sure to unplug The AC adapter and remove the battery before you start taking something.
