What can I make a chair?

It has taken a project to design a chair for a lifeguard on a beach. I designed the chair is available in three parts: 1: The base, which is convex and has to be fairly heavy and resistant to corrosion. 2: A pole that passes through the center of the dome, must be stronger and more resistant to corrosion (I thought stainless steel tube) 3: A seat at the top to be comfortable and resistant to corrosion. What materials do you suggest (and Therefore, if possible)?

I recommend stainless steel for the pole, because it would be better for the resistance. polywood recommend for the seat. It is made recycled material and requires no annual maintenance. Finally, I recommend some type of stainless steel base, which could be filled with sand. Who should meet the weight requirements to stand.:)
