You can not charge the laptop battery with the energy supply of New universal?

Inadvertently I banged my old laptop Toshiba Satellite A100-pin power supply connects to the laptop and broken bar in AC 90W I think the PIN. I bought a new adapter universal 120 W with which I am currently using my laptop. The thing is, in the light, saying that the battery change is on but the battery does not load at all, in fact, it's cool as all get out. What could be the problem? The guy at the bank said the source 120W universal power supply adapts to the needs of the 90W mobile. Why not charge the battery in my laptop?

Are you sure you set the correct voltage? As the temperature of the battery, Li-Ion batteries should not be warm during the load so I would not worry if the battery is fresh.
