white or gray screen for the LCD projector?
it is my Epson PowerLite 76C Projector 2000 ANSI lumens, XGA resolution. He med light low light (night) when I use (my room). A screen of white or gray work best? I guess either the screen should be high resolution. Are there other manufacturers of screens or the Da-Lite?
The answer in general it depends on the contrast ratio projector. The Powerlite 76C has a CR of 400:1 ... which is quite low by the standards home theater. A gray screen "must have" a little help to optimize the contrast and high light output means that the brightness slightly lower will not be a concern. Since gray is a neutral white color is not practically speaking, "better". Do not tell me where you are, but Carada screens are excellent, but sent directly to cutomers only (not distributors) to shipping can be expensive if you are, for example, the United Kingdom. A Canadian site with good prices and relatively cheap screens is Eastporters. See the following links for both. Since the projector relatively inexpensive may not want to spend hundreds on a screen and you want to examine "painting his own" for about $ 40 materials. See the AVS forum for the screen yourself (see link). I can personally attest to the great results of a gray screen Clearly that is based on "Behr Silverscreen thread on this site.
